The duplicity of Sudanese diaspora
What
is like arguing for Sudanese government overthrow holing up abroad, far away
from rallies and protests? As it turns out, it is normal for Sudanese
politicians. Being close to western agents such people
hold their own protests while their compatriots are suffering from
provocateurs.
The
Sudanese diaspora in the US has
50 000 people. The majority of them has
extremely opposing views and membership in different associations: the Association
of the University of Khartoum graduates in the USA, Sudan-American Association
of Physicians, etc. Some of these organisations has a long history, but other
ones had more recently begun operations, just before the protests in Sudan.
Thus,
Sudanese
American Physicians Association
emerged in the US on 18 January 2019. The purpose was to unite Sudanese
doctors. However, in reality, its participants carry out
political demonstrations in favour of Sudanese government overthrow.
Nevertheless,
not only associations determine the fate of the country abroad. In addition,
there are individuals, like American with Sudanese origin Sully El-Atta. She
has been taking benefit from a difficult situation in the country for her own
ends for a long time. Business women is working in a business consulting
company in Nebraska. When protests started, she joint rallies organised by
Sudanese diaspora.
At
the
one of the forums Sudanese American
Public Affairs Association Sully El-Atta stated that the Sudanese people had to
fight for the rights of African Americans in order to improve their lives in
the US. In doing so, she is passionately arguing for the idea that the Sudanese
people should take root in the US. June 8, 2019, standing in front of the
Washington Monument, she advertised
her organisation Sudan NextGen. She did it while the protests were taking place
in her home country. This was neither the time nor the place for such an
agitation.
It
should be noted that Sully
is responsible for consulting of American officials of financial sector. She is
running a business by the American rules, but will these rules that she is
imposing on the Sudanese people be suitable for Sudanese business model?
Because the US live by absolutely different rules affected by the factors like
climate, territory, economy, etc. Does she not understand this by herself or
can her actions be intentional?
This
rally is notable for one more detail. Demonstrators that you can see in the
frame are holding some posters with notes in English on the opposite side. This
can be explained by two reasons: Sudanese people living in the US forget their
native language or these posters were prepared by the organisers of the rally
before the demonstrations. If we consider the second option, the organisers
might be some non-commercial organisations.
At
the same time, the most likely the rally was supported by the Enough Project,
which is based a mile and a half from the Washington Memorial at 1420
K Street NW. This organisation has
already been mentioned in our publication as non-commercial organisation with
the support of oppositionists in Sudan.
Along
with Sully, Ali
Bakri stands out among the leaders of
the Sudanese protests in the United States. At
one of the meetings, he spoke about the
importance of carrying out his opposition policy through social networks and
the need to develop his Facebook account.
This
symposium was held at Georgetown University and organised by Association of
Sudanese-American professionals in America. There is a remarkable thing that
the account of this organization was registered
on February 7, 2019. The organization itself emerged on the basis of
information from the
FB page, on January 27 of this year. At
the same meeting, there were such political activists as Marwa
Babiker and Sully Al-Atta, who was already
familiar to us.
As you can see, the Sudanese opposition members living in the US,
like all of them, have a similar agenda for Sudan, their activity has the same
frequency, and they work with foreign agents. At the same time, over the years
of life in a foreign country, they have lost touch with reality and no longer
know how their relatives live, and their performance is a solid
self-advertisement. However, they persistently try to impose on them Western
politics, without even realizing that it is not suitable for the Republic torn
by protests.
